The first year of BMW S1000RR production was 2009 – just 1,000 example were made for WSB homologation purposes. The next year, BMW ramped up production of the very successful bike, and in the process created ads like this one, where they pulled ‘the oldest trick in the world’, but with the S1KRR:
I won’t tell you if it’s real or not, but here’s MythBusters trying to test it. They failed trying to replicate the ad, so they even tried the pull with the bike hitting about 100 miles per hour…see for yourself:
