Reader Jeff Z. gave me a heads up that on the PBS show Nature, they once aired a 3-part (each is an hour long) special about two guys who covered 3,000 miles in Alaska on a quest to document bears. The piece is called Bears of the Last Frontier.

You’re probably wondering what this has to do with a motorcycle blog. Fair question. Turns out that they spent some time traveling on bikes – specifically the BMW F650GS. The second episode seems to be the most motorcycle-heavy, though the bike related footage starts around 41 minutes in. So if you liked my Alaska trip but are looking for some prettier views of the Haul Road (and you don’t mind seeing some bonus bear footage), here’s the second episode for your viewing pleasure:
