Unfortunately, my buddy Rennie Scaysbrook was unable to come away with first place at this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on his KTM 1290 Super Duke R. Just 0.7 seconds separated him from Carlin Dunne, who won on a Ducati Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak. But the reason I’m bringing this all to your attention is actually because of who came in third place. Currently PP recrord holder, Chris Fillmore, went all in with a 790 Duke prototype, and he finished less than 5 seconds behind Carlin despite the huge deficit in displacement. It was an impressive run, and KTM has just released a video of his 10 minutes and 4 seconds up the mountain. It was filmed with GoPro’s 360-degree Fusion camera, so you’re not just staring at the speedo the whole time.
