Kawasaki recently had the press launch of their headline-grabbing ZX-4RR sportbike, and reviews are generally positive. The main complaints seem to be the price and the tune – Kawasaki had to neuter the bike above 11k rpms in the US for noise requirements. This is obviously easily fixed with an ECU flash, though that voids the warranty. With that said, one of our clients at Iconic bought one of the first ZX-4RRs to make it to the US, and once he had it flashed he asked if I’d take it for a ride. I only rode it a few miles, but here’s my initial thoughts in video form if you’re interested…
Would I buy one? No. But am I glad it exists? Very. I’m actually about to sell my Ninja 400 track bike as I’m very happy with my Kramer 690, but there are days when I think back to this little ride and feel like it would make for a very fun next track bike if the Kramer wasn’t in my life. Have any of you bought the new ZX-4RR? Or even if you haven’t, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
