A quick history lesson: During WWII, the British Royal Navy commissioned an aircraft carrier called the HMS Hercules, but the war ended before the ship was completed. India bought it and officially made it part of their Navy in 1961, renaming it the INS Vikrant in the process – it was India’s first aircraft carrier. In 2014, the ship was scrapped, and for some reason an Indian motorcycle company (Bajaj) though they would recycle some of that metal to build a new model, simply called the “V”. I don’t really understand, but I look forward to Harley’s upcoming Nimitz line of cruisers. Continue on for Bajaj’s promo video of their new 150cc bike, which will launch on February 1st.
Want more? Head on over to the official site for the Bajaj V. I might not care for recycled ship metal, but wake me up when a motorcycle manufacturer brings in other tech you can find on naval ships…like artillery!
