Suzuki produced a promo film to recap their 1970 season in the World (if we’re being honest, just Europe) Motocross Grand Prix. Suzuki was the first Japanese manufacturer that competed for the championship, and they dominated thanks to their 250cc racer, the RH70. It didn’t hurt that they had Sylvain Geboers, Joel Robert, and Olle Petterson piloting the machines (which were 35 pounds lighter than competing machines).
Suzuki made quite a splash in their debut year – they won 7 of the first 8 races and quickly secured the manufacturers championship. When it was all over, Suzuki riders claimed 1st, 2nd, and 6th – so it makes sense that Suzuki would create a film to commemorate their success. I hope you enjoy.
