After lap 15 this weekend at the Spanish GP in Jerez, Valentino Rossi achieved an odd milestone – he covered 40,075 kilometers in competition, and that is equivalent to the circumference of the Earth!
During that distance and 23 seasons across the 125/250/500/MotoGP classes, Rossi has tallied up plenty of other numbers:
8,740 laps (MotoGP’s press materials say 8,730 but the video below says otherwise)
369 races
228 podiums
115 wins
64 pole positions
and 9 World Championships!
Rossi would go on to place 5th at Jerez.
