Wayne Rainey Tribute – 2006 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R was Team Green’s literbike effort, and was very competitive when new. Will Keneflick of RetroSBK used one to build a tribute bike to the legendary Wayne Rainey, and after a tremendous amount of custom work, he ended up with the bike you see in front of you. This specific Ninja (VIN: JKAZXCD1136A00090) has the custom work you might expect from a performance tribute, but it also includes neat touches like a rear brake that is only controlled by thumb. Apparently it is valved for trail braking, as the rear brake is not particularly strong. The front fairing has a couple of nearly symmetrical cracks, but the bike itself is ready to go, and it’s street legal!

It’s been covered in Cycle World, Sport Bike Magazine, and even made it to Jay Leno’s Garage. Want to learn more? Check out this article from Cycle World on this exact bike. Find this Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R for sale in Martinez, California with an opening bid of $.99
