Well-Modified – 2015 Honda NSF250R

2011 marked the end of two-stroke world championships – the next year, Moto3 moved to four-strokes, and Honda’s first factory effort was the NSF250R. Over on Iconic we’ve got one of the nicest-modified examples I’ve seen in a very long time.

Rules capped bore size at 81mm, revs at 14,000 rpm, and valves at four. Claimed power? 48 ponies, which were plenty for the feather light dry weight of 180 pounds. Honda offered this racer in the US in 2012 with a MSRP of $28,599, but a new one now is less than half. Though the design is old, the bike is still competitive in the class and if you’re not too large it’s a wonderful experience to ride one on the track. Here’s a great story from Dylan Code about his recent experience with a NSF250 that we recently sold.

This example (VIN: JH2MR03C4CK000944) and again, the list of upgrades is impressive:
– GET shower injection, throttle body & ECU (programmable).
– Valentini Titanium racing exhaust.
– Quickshifter.
– 2-D telemetry including throttle, gear, front and rear brake, front and rear wheel, fork & shock sensors
– Carbon swing arm protectors R&L
– Billet aluminum rear axle & adjuster/assembly.
– Billet aluminum triple clamps with adjustable offset (5 shim sets).
– Adjustable swing arm pivot.
– Ohlins Moto3 FG385 forks.
– Ohlins rear shock with Gas Pre-Load adjuster.
– Marchesini forged magnesium wheels, Brembo caliper front and rear
– Brembo front brake master cylinder 16/18.
