UPDATE: Here’s my First Ride review!
Polaris is about to release the 2018 Slingshot lineup, and I’ll be spending some time with the oddball 3-wheelers this week. Is there anything specific you’d like to know?
In my mind, there are 3 significant changes:
1. Polaris is adding a new Limited Edition of the SLR so now there are four models in the lineup: S, SL, SLR, and SLR LE. The LE gets 10-way adjustable Bilstein suspension, a Ghost Gray/Lime Squeeze paint job, “premium” sport seats with color-matching bolsters, some graphics, and a 200W Rockford Fosgate sound system. MSRP is $30,999.
2. On the other side of the price spectrum, it’s now cheaper than ever to pick up a Slingshot. The 2018 base model S is $19,999, which represents a $2k discount from the asking price of the 2017 base model.
3. All but the base model get Polaris’ Ride Command system – you may have utilized it on Indian’s baggers. It’s a 7″ touchscreen that will now control all the information and entertainment for the Slingshot.
The other models are basically carryovers and I’ll get into the differences when I do my review. Check out the Slingshot website here, and let me know in the comments if you’ve got unanswered questions (or if there’s anything you’d like me to cover).
