I’m spending today with a bike I’ve wanted to try for years – the new Yamaha Ténéré 700. If you’re considering one I’m sure you’ve read a whole bunch of reviews by now – but let me know if there’s anything specific you want to know and I’ll do my best to find out!
Yamaha USA released this video back in 2018, so I’m glad to finally get to try it for myself.
What I’m most excited about is the price of $9,999, as this seems like a bike well-suited for the time of adventure riding I like to do (longer tours where the destination(s) are just as important as the journey and reliability/ease of use are more important than outright off-road performance). This is the type of thing I’d love to ride if I was to ever re-do my Alaska trip. I’m sure that a KTM 790 Adventure would be better in the dirt for people who love to pull off long powerslides and bash through rock gardens, but my focus today is to see what the T7 enables an average rider to do. Plus, it beats a regular day in the office…
If you didn’t place a pre-order months ago and haven’t already picked yours up by now, you’re going to be waiting until September for the next batch to come to the US. I hope you find that it’s worth the wait. Until then, check out Yamaha’s website for more information, and fire away in the comments!
