Next month, Gordon McCall and his team will be putting on the 9th annual installment of the Quail Motorcycle Gathering. Who else is going to be there?
As a primer, here’s an official video from last year:
Or, here are my recaps from the last two:
2016 Quail Motorcycle Gathering
2015 Quail Motorcycle Gathering
Not only will you be surrounded by many of the best motorcycles in the country, you’ll get to take them all in at a beautiful location with live music, a catered BBQ lunch, and OEMs. Each year the organizers choose to focus on a certain theme to supplement the usual classes (Antique, Competition, Custom, Scooters, etc). This year the Quail will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Norton Commando. I’ll try to convince Nathan to dress up like a Norton Girl from the 70s…
The event runs from 10am-4pm on Saturday, May 6th. Every year it seems to get a little bit bigger and better, and this year is no different. The day after, the Quail will be hosting the “Cycle World Test Ride”, which allows riders to sample some Hondas (Africa Twin, CRF250L Rally, Rebel, or NC700X) while also testing out the newest helmets from Bell with Transitions face shields.
Organizers say that there will be over 400 bikes at this year’s event, and you can save $20 by buying tickets online in advance at this link.
Will you be there? Leave a comment below or send me an email and I’ll keep my eyes open for you!
In the comments below, Don of Vintage Motorcycle Rescue notes that he’ll be bringing a collection of all the Honda Flying Dragon paint sets – here’s a preview, photo courtesy of Don:
