The mid 2000’s were something of a golden era for sportbikes. Sales were booming and manufacturers had deep pockets and were willing to throw heaps of cash into R&D to produce ever-evolving superbikes and supersports in the then highly competitive sportbike arms race. This 07′ CBR1KRR was released around the height of this era because as you may remember: some things happened the following year that resulted in sales drying up almost overnight.
This Alto Evolution Team CBR1000RR was raced in World Superbike in 2007 by Karl Muggeridge, alongside his teammate that year; Josh Brookes. It’s in the same condition as when it last saw competition at Magny Cours (circuit in France, last race of the season) a decade ago. This private-team-machine was built by the seller(s) who will set up the bike for the buyer along with letting them pick between an Akrapovic and Giannelli exhaust.
Though this machine is a decade old, it can still realistically hang with (and probably overtake) today’s literbikes at the track. The mid 2000’s really did give us some incredible bikes. (My daily ride is a K7 GSXR600 and I love it). On top of the already impressive CBR1000RR is the fact the bike has been built as an HRC racer featuring various HRC components as well as a handful of carbon and magnesium parts. Every non-HRC component on this bike is top-shelf, even by today’s standards. Do yourself a favor and checkout the link below to view the detailed and extensive complete parts list as it’s pretty impressive.
While any motorcycles used in professional racing have some historical significance and value (some obviously more than others) and this Honda is no exception, but more than that I see this as a magnificent work of engineering and some of the finest race machinery on the planet, available to any shmoe willing to fork over the cash. This fine example is available in Italy for $45,500 (or £35,000) here on RaceBikeMart and the seller(s) has all kinds of additional parts for sale along with things like gear-ratios and other services.
