Zero Miles – 2003 Bimota V-Due

The V-Due is one of the most interesting things that ever came out of Bimota. It came out to tremendous fan-fare as the first two-stroke with fuel injection – yielding a greater power to weight ratio than anything else available on the market.

Unfortunately, the fuel injection was awful, and the bikes were incredibly difficult to ride. Combine that with a large number of seized engines, and this bike was a disaster that bankrupted Bimota when they had to handle the recall.

Time and creativity have brought fixes to the market (from third parties), but it was a bit late for the Italian firm. This bike is worth learning more about – but I’ll defer you to OddBike for a fantastic article explaining how this bike “killed” Bimota.

This specific V-Due (VIN: ZESVT5000WR000286) is claimed to have zero miles and the seller states that there’s no cosmetic issues but he keeps stressing that there’s no guarantee in a weird way. One assumes that it doesn’t run, but considering how hard it is to make these run anyway that it’s probably destined to be a 0-mile bike forever. It comes with German paperwork, two keys, a sales brochure, and the original “operating instructions.”
